Thanks (y) TV Server recognised it was time to record, and attempted to start the recording: Only one tuner available: Failed to lock on signal: This was repeated every 15 seconds until the program finished. If you look back to the previous tune request before the recording attempted to start, you'll see it was for the same physical channel (52): That tune request succeeded: So, how is it possible that the recording failed with no signal? The short answer is: a combination of configuration, driver and MediaPortal behaviour. MediaPortal assumes it doesn't need to tell the tuner to tune before starting the recording. It should already have been tuned due to the previous tune request for PBS. However, it seems that the driver for your tuner doesn't remember that it is already tuned (this is quite unusual). First step to attempt to solve the problem... Disable the DVB EPG grabber. The DVB EPG grabber only grabs DVB EPG; doesn't work for ATSC or clear QAM. You really don't want to have it enabled because it will constantly use your tuners (= more power used, shorter tuner lifetime, longer logs) and randomly cause this problem without actually getting any EPG for you. So, untick the idle and timeshifting EPG grabbers here: http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_MEDIAPORTAL_1/141_Configuration/TV-Server_Configuration/05_DVB_EPG Second... Please peform the following test with MediaPortal:

Open MP and go to the TV section.
Attempt to tune PBS World. If the tune request fails, try tune FOX8 first then go back to PBS - it should work.
Stop TV.
Now attempt to tune WDSU-DT. I'd expect this to fail.
Close MediaPortal and open TV Server configuration.
Edit the settings for tuner 5: http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_MEDIAPORTAL_1/141_Configuration/TV-Server_Configuration/02_TV_Servers#Edit_Tuner_Settings
Set "preferred network provider" to "ATSC". Save and close.
Restart the TV service.
Attempt to reproduce the problem again by repeating steps 1 through 4... though hopefully this time step 4 will succeed.
Regardless of the outcome of the above, please post the TV Server logs again.
mm
