HVR-1600 simultaneous recording (1 Viewer)

I'm not sure if this is the place to ask or not but any way.

I've got an HVR-1600 which should be able to record a digital and analog at the same time. Is there something that I'm missing to get that working?

I always find it a little hard to determine whether Hauppauge cards are hybrid or actually allow you to use both tuning modes at the same time. Hauppauge documentation on these finer points doesn't seem to be so good. If the 1600 is hybrid then you can only use one mode at a time, not both simultaneously. Assuming that the 1600 is *not* hybrid as you say then you can test that both tuners work simultaneously by temporarily disabling all your other tuners and then scheduling simultaneous recordings for one analog and one digital channel.

One thing that you may not have figured out yet is channel mapping. This is the concept of linking your channels to the tuners that are capable of tuning them. Use the TV channel mapping section to link all your ATSC and QAM channels to your digital tuners and all your analog cable channels to your analog tuners. This tells TV Server which tuners can tune each channel so that it can automatically utilise a free and capable tuner to tune a given channel when another capable but busy tuner is occupied.

Man I hate it when I don't double check my setup and then ask a silly question.

So it looks like I forgot to map those channels on to the second (HVR-1200) card. When I did the test it must have been using the 1600 for one digital and one analog.

I've got three recordings setup to start in 5 minutes. Two digital and one analog. We'll see what happens.
