Idea for 3D Bluerays/movies (1 Viewer)

Hi !

Since normal players cannot play 3D content on 3D BR or 3D movies I was wondering if there was a way to let MP switch between different players. There could be different ways ... for instance the MP gui could ask for 3D or 2D playback and then start different players depending on choice. I dont know if there is a way for MP to automatically detect if a BR is 3D but if not there could be a manual solution in the importer (some checkbox or something).

Also it would be nice if the GUI should show a 3D sign similar to the 1080p or Subtitles signs.

What do you think of the idea ?

A way you can do it is to program a own program that you set as the external player. From Moving Pictures you can send an argument to the external player. Use this in your own program to determine if the movie is 3D or not and then start the correct player.
I use something like this to seperate and autostart my HD DVD's and Blu-ray. To play HD DVD I use PowerDVD 8 and for Blu-rays it's PowerDVD10.

I am not sure, but I remember a thread on 3D playback inside MP. There is a beta version of a plugin available I think.
