If I reinstall MediaPortal, do I lose all plugins and settings? (1 Viewer)

Hi there!

I may have corrupted my MediaPortal installation by deleting some files. I tried to restore them, but there all still some problems left, that I can't get over.

If I download the setup file again and choose to make a new installation will all settings remain or do I have to set it up completly from scratch?

On a complete new install you will lose your settings and plugins. on uninstall you can chose to keep your settings. i never tried it though...
You should have a look at the plugin "backup settings". You can backup settings/plugins/thumbs/channels with it and import back after new install.
Be aware that you might reimport some bad settings as well with it...
Sometimes starting from scratch is just the best option...
