Is it possible to use the iMON remote together with MCE replacement plugin?
Preferably without iMON manager software.

Soundgraph claims their remote control is compatible with MCE remote.
I think this is a truth with a slight modification!?

Generally NO, it is not possible, what Soundgraph is saying about compatibility with MCE is true but only with latest remote they sell with new graphical display/receiver called 'Ultra Bay'. If you have such device the answer is 'probably'.

I have the Silverstone GD01MX case which uses iMON LCD which comes bundled with a remote that looks exactly like the one for iMON Ultrabay. Ultrabay also uses a LCD that looks identical to the one in the GD01 case.

Do you have any ideas how this should work? How to set it up.

Yeah I understand I need the driver in some way. However it would be nice with a iMON plugin :) to the MCE replacement plugin.

Maybe I can work around. I think Girder has an IMON plugin but I have not tested this one with my remote yet. And as I understand MCE replacement plugin supports Girder?

Can I use MCE replacement to receive Girder commands?

That's a good point that I should emphasize but I often forget. If you can use a remote with girder or hip you can then use one of those programs to send Windows Messages to the MCE Replacement plugin.

Have a read of the documentation on the "Message Mode".

    Good luck,

Let us pray that this Girder plugin works with my version of iMON remote.

Because Soundgraph is not developing any new or releasing any source or API.
Neither are they making any API or releasing any example code for their new LCD.

I thought that they were cooperative and helpful but I am very wrong. They don't seem to give a damn about their customers.

In a way I now regret that I bought a HTPC case with iMON crap.

I totally agree. The iMON hardware is quite fine, but the software support is a disaster.
    For me:
    - the girder plug-in doesn't work with the new remote an the newest software
    - the LCD display cannot be supported by MP as long as SoundGraph does not release an API, which I personally think will never happen
    - The iMON software itself is instable. It often hangs after wake up from standby

Overall at the moment the iMON remote/LCD is bad choice to work together with MP. I am struggling now for more than four months and will invest in a different hardware.

There is no direct API remote control support in MP however it's simple enough to create a profile for MediaPortal using the iMon app.

The LCD works here - you set the Front Panel to Plug-in mode via the iMon utility.
The turn on Joe Dalton's plugin in configuration and choose the "Soundgraph Imon" option via USB. Don't mess with any other options.

    Start MediaPortal - hey presto!
