Hi there. I'm having a problem getting decent thumbnail images from my MP3 files. The majority are ok but quite a few (60 or so) are only half complete (see attachments). I'd rather not go through and manually add the artwork for each of these albums so I was wondering if there's a workaround at all?

Are the images looking ok, when you look at them via a MP3 Tag Editor?

sorry, it took me a while to come back to you.
I've analysed the file now and found the following issue:

The Picture is contained in an APIC frame, which specifies a size of X"0003ec41" = 257089.

In my Tagreader i only get back a length of 63401.
This is what i'm displaying to you, so you only get the first part of the picture.

There is nothing wrong with the MP Tagreader, the problem is within your file.

It is marked as being an ID3 2.4 file. X'04' on position 4 of the file after the string "ID3".

Version 2.4 stores the length of ID3 Frames as "Synchsafe integers", which means that the highest bit (bit 7) is always zero.

Version 2.3 does not use this scheme.

So, altough your ID3 Header indicates a V 4 file, all the header length are stored in V 3 notation.

The Tag editor, you've used to edit your files seems to have caused this trouble.
So the only way to get around that, is to use a Tag editor.
Edit some tags and save the file.
This should correct all the frame headers and then MP to recognize your pictures correctly.
