Increase video cache in MP? (1 Viewer)

Is there any way to increase the video cache in mediaportal? Im trying to play video files through a wireless netowrk from another computer, and the playback is a bit stuttery, pausing every 1-2mins for a second.

I tried enabling Haali Media Splitter in config > post proccessing, and increasing the cache in that, but then whenever i play a video MP crashes.

Then i enabled Haali Media Splitter (AR) instead, and it worked brilliant and fixed my problem entirely, only now it wont play any mp4 or mkv files, and when i try mediaportal crashes...

So yea does anyone know another way to increase the buffer amount so i can have smooth wireless netowrk playback? (and/or know how to fix my haali media splitter (ar) so that i can play all filetypes?)

I encounter a similar thing with HD videos in WMF format.
They play nice from local disk with MP and Windows MediaPlayer.
They also play nice from NAS with Windows MediaPlayer
They stutter a lot when playing from NAS via MP.
Seems that Windows MediaPlayer uses some kind of buffering on playback.
Can you try playing with Windows Media Player to see if problem persists?
