Hi guys,
i want give you a short overview i found out. Maybe it is interesting for anyone.

Follow:
I take a mini-itx board AS-Rock Z77-ITXE and a 4 core CPU I5-3450 an i want optimize the System that i need less power.

Normal use: 3400MHz and standart Voltage (complete System with SSD 60GB, Mainboard, 4GB Memory, CPU, picoPSU150) (without TV Card and 2nd Harddisk)
Windows7 64bit
Full Load 69W
Desktop 23W
MediaPortal 29W
MediaPortal with HDTV 1920/1080i 36W

Final Results:

Optimize CPU Mode like a T Version CPU. (2600MHz amd minus 0.22V CPU Voltage)
Windows7 64bit
Full Load 51W
Desktop 21W
MediaPortal 26W
MediaPortal with HDTV 1920/1080i 30W

The settings for this you can see in the picture.
All adjusting values can you do in the AS-Rock Bios fixed.
The system runs absolutely stable.

I think thats great Stuff and a very good option to build a HTPC.

Very good... thank you for the information.
How about the GPU(HD2500) Power? is it enough for LiveTV 1080i? and what about the 24p BUG?

    Hi.

Sure it will be... But as far as I know, the 3450 has the HD4000 GPU;) build in.
    what about the 24p BUG?
As far a s I remember right this bug should be fixed in Ivy Bridge Chipsets. But if it's really fixed, who knows???

AFAIK, the 24hz problem was fixed by new driver, which only shows up in windows\intel update after a bios update from your respective mobo manufacturer.

The 3450 has the 2500GPU and its fast enough tu decode 1080i very well.
i dont see with my blurays any stuttering so i think the 24p bug is solved.

    Hi.
OK, mixed something up. The 3450S has HD4000 GPU , the 3450 has HD2500. But both are at the same prize (just 1 Euro difference) here in Germany, so I wonder why someone should choose the 3450 without S...

But the S Version have no HD4000. Only the TDP is less. Thats why i open this thread to show you that you dont need the most expensive T/S Version CPUs.

    Hi.
But the S Version have no HD4000
But that's from the well known german computer website heise.de:
    I5 3450:
    Code:
    Quad-Core "Ivy Bridge" • TDP: 77W • Fertigung: 22nm • DMI: 5GT/s • L2-Cache: 4x 256kB • L3-Cache: 6MB shared • Stepping: E1 • IGP: HD Graphics 2500, 650MHz (Turbo: 1100MHz) • Memory Controller: Dual Channel PC3-12800U (DDR3-1600) • SSE4.1, SSE4.2, AVX, Turbo Boost (3.50GHz), VT-x EPT, AES-NI, Intel 64, Idle States, EIST, Thermal Monitoring, Fast Memory Access, Flex Memory Access, XD bit

    I5 3450S:
    Code:
    Quad-Core "Ivy Bridge" • TDP: 65W • Fertigung: 22nm • DMI: 5GT/s • L2-Cache: 4x 256kB • L3-Cache: 6MB shared • Stepping: E1 • IGP: HD Graphics 4000, 650MHz (Turbo: 1100MHz) • Memory Controller: Dual Channel PC3-12800U (DDR3-1600) • SSE4.1, SSE4.2, AVX, Turbo Boost (3.50GHz), VT-x EPT, AES-NI, Intel 64, Idle States, EIST, Thermal Monitoring, Fast Memory Access, Flex Memory Access, XD bit

    And the prizes are 3450 174,94€ and 3450S 169,65€ at 2012-06-09

    Edit:

Ok, I'll do a reload of the page and now the 3450S also has HD2500 so this was an error on their site...
Sorry to post such confusing things...
