sollution is to use system recovery in windows to roll back to a time before the coreavc installation. reboot and then install an older version of coreavc.
Same here. Clean install of Windows XP, 1.0.0.0 Media Portal, never installed any external codec pack or anything else and have "initializing directx" hang issue mentioned in this forum.
