"initializing input devices" - can this be disabled? (1 Viewer)

I have just installed 1.0 in a clean Win XP SP3 installation, I came from RC3, and has never noticed the "initializing input devices" screen before... I don't know if this is new in RC4+ or I managed to disable this before, but this bugger seems to wake up all my network drives and DVD-drive, which is kind of annoying.. is there any way to disable this "check"? Couldn't find anything at my first glances through configuration?

I think you refer to the alternative full screen splash screen. It can be turned on/off in General Configuration, I think 3rd from top.

HOWEVER, I do not think this is in anyway relevant to your problem since it is just a more userfriendly way to display the splashscreen. Even when turned off, it will still "initializing input devices".

If I am wrong and you actually refer to another screen, please add more information, logs and maybe even screenshots.

No, it's not the screen itself, but what happens while it's displayed.. is it true that MP is trying to connect to all drives and network shares used in e.g. Videos upon startup? I've noticed that 1.0 is much slower at resuming from standby as well?

I do prefer the fullscreen splash

Only thing I can find i the cagelog is this 0001784: MP can't access network drive, while windows explorer can.
Maybe someone with knowledge about the source code can assist us to determine what is happening.

In the mean time, it will be helpfull if you start the logs collector from start menu, then simulate the problem and attach logs here.

Sorry... seems lf, it wasn't actually mediaportal waking up my network drive, but MP-TV Series that wanted to rescan my network drives on each startup.. sorry

Moving Pictures does the same thing, if you have any cpu monitoring going, you see the difference if the above 2 plugins are disabled, MP loads a lot quicker as well
