Has anyone successfully installed MP2 on Windows 10?
I installed MP2 on Windows 8.1 Home BEFORE upgrading. That seems to be fine.
I upgraded a Windows 7 Pro system to Windows 10 (and lost Media Center), then tried to install MP2. It fails to install at all.

Here is the end of the log:

Ah HA! I did try to install DirectX 9 but the installation said it wasn't for my operating system and I should bugger off.

But THIS! This is something else:
"This download provides the DirectX end-user redistributable that developers can include with their product."

I shall indeed try this ... probably tomorrow.

BTW, since it says developers can include it, how difficult would it be to include it in the zip file?

You know, it works much better if you follow directions.
Finding the correct DirectX download was the key. Previously I had done this with Windows 8, but there is no version specifically for Windows 10 - though I have seen requests for that.

Hi

Not very, the DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer IS included. In your case the web based install fails

Cache\3c8243734cf43dd7bb2332ba05b58ccacfa4377c\dxwebsetup.exe" /q'
[27AC:2704][2015-09-19T10:20:15]e000: Error 0xfffffff7: Process returned error: 0xfffffff7

The error means "Already installed" or a newer version installed.

You see the difference between the web based installer and the full installer below
Web installer
Version: 9.29.1974
File Name:dxwebsetup.exe
Date Published:4/18/2011
File Size:286 KB

Full installer
Version:9.29.1974
File Name:directx_Jun2010_redist.exe
Date Published: 4/18/2011
File Size:95.6 MB

So it is a size thing.

//Edit
If you have win 10 N you should read the "additional requirements" in the wiki.
