Yep! I've had a BAD night trying to install this new version 2.0.0.4
2.0.0.0 worked fine exept for live sport being a little jerky.
I've installed ALL of the microsoft updates even the ones that were optional.
I kept going back to the site to do the auto install untill there was nothing left to install.
I did all if the updates that Frodo said to in one of the posts he had.
I reinstalled the DVico drivers as shown in a PDF file I have attached.
(it worked fine on 2.0.0.0)
Now nothing works...when it did before.
also
I rescanned the channels.
My signal is very good

Please help me. I am so upset by all of the time and effort that I have wasted on this program.

1.Now MP can't see the second blue bird tuner, when it could before
2.Now I'm luck if it will ifnd one of the channels
3.If it does get one of the channels I select, it jumps and skips and fits and farts

cheers

I don't have any experience with the Dvico dual card, so these are just suggestions...:)

Make sure you have the option "Grab EPG from DVB-T" un-selected (in TV configuration - Program Guide)

Check that the frequencies captured by "Autotune" are correct for your channels. What city are you in?

Roll back to the v3.30.01 Dvico drivers - I have read of others having trouble with the latest version of the BDA drivers.

    HTH....;)

Thankyou for your input Taipan, I appreciate it:)

I thought that the problem was mainly caused by the tuner card, but, what do ya know...
    Everything works fine on MCE.
Which was the original reason I started using MP, because it just worked without any muck'n around.

I just spent 8 hours yesterday and today going around in circles trying to get MP to work...not happy...
I would love to continue to use MP, but, is there anyone who would like to suggest any things that WILL work?

    cheers

is there anyone who would like to suggest any things that WILL work?

There is a "known bug" with MP that autotune will grap the wrong frequencies - that's why I asked you which city you are in - I noticed that your log has Channel 9 at 191500 kHz - but it should be 191,625 kHz for Melbourne. This will cause the symptoms you described.

Do you you have the option "Grab EPG from DVB-T" un-selected - if selected, this will also cause the symptoms you describe.

Also, don't assume that because the Dvico drivers work with MCE, that they will automatically also work with MP. Have you installed the whole Dvico Fusion application - I don't understand why, but it seems to be necessary to install the whole package for MP to work.

Please don't dismiss my suggestions as frivolous - MP should work fine with your Dvico card, I am just trying to help you find out what has gone cockeyed...;)

    Yeh cool man! Thanks!
I'll check the EPG thingy when I get home from work.
As for the install of the DVico drivers.
Last night I did a full de-install and re-install of the whole software package.
The installer that I used is the 3.41(latest I think)
I actually did it about 5 times, because it would not install the same way as I remembered it did the last time:confused: (about a week ago)

You see I followed a sequence that I found on the MCE Australia site (attached pdf) the last time I installed it and it installed not quite the same stuff as the pdf said though....there were 5 PCI drivers and 1 USB driver called a 'bluebird composite'.
    This did actually work!

The times I installed it last night, I followed the same proceedure EXACTLY and it installed just like the PDF said it would...5 PCI drivers and 3USB drivers (this time NOT called 'bluebird composite')
    STRANGE EH?

It seems to me that for the 2nd tuner to work, I need to somehow install that 'bluebird composite' one again...how...I don't know:(

I am feeling like I should do a full uninstall and reinstall of MP 2.0.0.0 then 2.0.0.4
    What do ya reckon?

Thanks for your input once again Taipan...

    cheers

SCO, I just re-read your first post and realised that you had Mediaportal working fine with version 0.2.0.0. But it was after you applied the 0.2.0.4 stable patch that things went crazy.

    Is that correct?

And you took a backup of your working 0.2.0.0 version before you applied the 0.2.0.4 stable patch - correct?

My comments above assumed that you haven't had MediaPortal working at all, so they are probably not relevant....

Installing the stable patches is usally pretty straightforward, so I don't understand what has happened in your case - as you suggest, it maybe best to start a fresh with version 0.2.0.0 again and get that working....

    Sorry about the "red-herrings"....

    Yeh, no worries mate.
You wouldn't believe it, but now my MCE works really well.
I hve once again done a full re- install, and I still don't get the second tuner...even though MCE does find them.
I do have an idea about somthing that I could try when doing a re-install of the dvico drivers, but I am not really willing to stuff with it in case it stuffs up MCE as well!
It would be nice if somone with a dvico card could chime and maybe give me some confidence to try to get MP to work again.
Its just the issue with the second tuner card...thats all.
    So frustrating
    cheers
