My old TV Server died last week, so I thought, no problem I can just setup a new one.

The new machine is running Vista SP1, has 4Gb RAM, and has two DigitalNow Tiny Twin USB TV cards installed.

Went through installation of MP, accepted all defaults, did Single Seat Install. The machine will be used as a client as well. All of the network stuff is the same as before, the machine in question has been storing movies, music, TV shows etc. for over a year, no access issues.

At the end of the install I was expecting to have to set up the database, login check connection save etc. This screen did not come up when I entered TV Server Configuration, just the normal TV Server Configuration Screen.

One and a half of my Tiny Twin cards are showing up. I can scan for channels on both tuners of one of them, when I scan on the third entry in TV Server Configuration I get no channels and a "No Signal" Error. In control panel both cards show up in Device Manager and show as working properly. Both cards are working becaue I can swap them over and then the other one doesn't work if you understand what I am saying.

Have tried a complete uninstall of MP, then reinstall, no different. Have tried an install using SQLExpress, no different. My second Client machine cannot show TV, presumable because it can not connect to the TV Server database, as it has not been set up properly.

I can watch TV on the Server using MP client, no problem. Only have access to one card though.

I have been using mediaportal for about 4 years, must have installed and reinstalled over twenty times in that period, but this one is doing my head in.

I did notice when doing the uninstall of the MYSQL setup, that the database connection screen I had expected on installation came up, and when I tested the connection it worked. Username was "Root" and password was MediaPortal.

I have attached MediaPortal logs, but I guess I also need TV Server logs, will post those if necessary when I get home tonight (if my family will let me near the machine). WAF has plummeted as you can expect, we were reduced to watching analog TV over the weekend, SWMBO is not a happy camper.

Any help appreciated, As I said this is doing my head in.:D

    So nearly there.....

Reinstalled TV Server again, Used SQL Server Management Studio Express to login, verified name "sa" and password "MediaPortal", all looks well. Did need to change the Port in TV Client config to 554 rather than 0 This should really be fixed.

Problem remain with second USB Tuner Card, looks fine in Device MAnager, only one BDA Filter shows up in TV Server Config, Channel Scan shows No Signal. Swap the cards around, other card works. Tried Powered USB Hub, direct connection to TV Server, the works.

    Any help appreciated:D
