MediaPortal Version: 1.2.0 Beta
Windows Version: Windows XP Home SP3

As this feauture is available in other installers I guess there is only something like a special manifest is missing for MediaPortal_Setup_1.2.0_Beta.exe

You may consider to add this in later installers.

In every case MediaPortal_Setup_1.2.0_Beta.exe, MPEInstaller.exe and Configuration.exe should check for necessary rights themself and quit with a nice error message if there are not enough rights.

But what is the bug? Does MP not get installed correctly under some situations? What actually needs fixing?

AW: Installation/Configuration/MPEInstaller in WinXP do not prompt for admin rights

These exe files need admin rights, if you don't have them, installation/configuration will fail.

This is the reason I personally believe
1st: these exe-files should check if the we're started with admin rights and quit with a nice error message if not (this is surely possible).
2nd: We get an UAC prompt for Admin rights on Vista/Win7/Server2008(R2) but not on XP. I don't now how this could be done but I know that different installers pop up with the run-as dialogue before start on WinXP systems.

OK, is this be a Feature Request that would be considered?
