Synopsis::

ive been having a few problem with installng and getting set up with media portal.

1. When i install rc4 i can get it set up, can tune channels, but when i start the program it runs really slow. then when i try to watch a tv show it doesnt have a picture but it does have sound... i dont know if it because it running too slow but i have over a gig of ram running on my pc...Area: Media Portal Program

Ive been having a few problem with installng and getting set up with media portal. this is the error i get:

1. When i install rc4 i can get it set up, can tune channels, but when i start the program it runs really slow. then when i try to watch a tv show it doesnt have a picture but it does have sound... i dont know if it because it running too slow but i have over 2gb of ram running and 2.5ghz atlon 64 proc on my pc... so speed shouldnt be a problem.

2. When i installed 1.3.0 it ran decent no slow downs on the proggy, but when i tuned the channels they wouldnt show up in the list... so i thought to my self if i got rid of 1.3 installed rc4 tuned the channels then took the database and put it in 1.3 it should work... but i did a stupid thing and deleted the directory instead of going thru add/remove proggys... no i cant reinstall 1.3... it says that its already installed even though there is no installation on my pc... rc4 rc3 or 1.3.... im a little preplexed ive searched thru registry and recently modifyed files... but to no avail... just wondering where are the file clashing at in an installation... any help would be thankful

i know these question are a little weird
So has anyone have an idea what to do

Try updating your Motherboard and Graphics card drivers (or post the version you are using)

Is Dxva mode enabled?

Try to reinstall rc4 and then uninstall it the proper way.
If that doesn't work go to add remove programms and choose to repair mediaportal it will ask for the setup files from rc4 and then it will be reinstalled.
Next thing would be to search the internet on how to remove items from the add remove programs program

The database from 0.2.0 is problebly not compatible with 0.1.3
Mixing versions is not going to make anything work.

If something is working slow, or only sound you should use the supporttemplate you allready found and ask for help on this forum. Because the problems you are having are quite common.
