Hello together,

I tried to install the new MP 1.0.1. version. As I had some problems with the version 1.0, I wanted to do a new installation. Therefore I removed the 1.0 installation and wanted to do the installation of the MP 1.0.1.
I selected the 1-Klick-installation with HDTV-support, but the installation is not running. As soon as the window with the overview of the already installed and the need-to-be-installed components comes, the comes up an error box which tells me, that there is a mistake in downloading the file. I also tried to ping the url "http://install.team-mediaportal.com" and this works. Also browsing with the IE is fine - so there are no problems with my internet connection. As further step I also tried to choose only "downloading the files" instead of installation, but the error is there as well.

Has someone an idea? At the moment I am without MP, because I already uninstalled 1.0 and I could not run the new installation... Help!!

I had the same problem. Make sure that everything of your old MP installation is gone. Delete the MP folders manually (C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal and C:\Docs&Settings\All Users\AppData\Team MediaPortal) and also delete all Temp folders (C:\Windows\Temp, C:\Docs&Settings\User\Local Settings\Temp, C:\Temp).

Running the installer a second time
or deleting the content of %temp%\MediaPortal installation
    should be sufficient.

Thanks for you quick response and I tried both, but it does not help. I cleaned all the folders without success and also running the installation a second, third,... time does not help.
It looks like the files being not reachable. Has someone else problems with the installation at the moment?

Bye and looking forward for some help.

The failure is still present and I have no ideas, what to do? Has someone an idea? What's the root cause for this error message. Have I forgotten to delete something?

    Thanks for help,

The error is thrown when DeployTool tries to get ApplicationLocations.xml file
(stores the urls for e.g. sql server downloads).

Try to place the attached file in %temp%\MediaPortal installation
(delete content of that folder beforehand) and run
    the installer afterwards.

Thanks, for your answers. I managed it by downloading with another PC before I read your answers - I have MP back again ;-)

    Thanks for the quick replies...
