Installation of Pinnacle Dual Sat Pro (1 Viewer)

In various threads Pinnacle´s DualSatPro is mentioned as a tuner card for MP.
Until now, I didn´t succeed to have MP recognize this card. I get no indication whatsoever in "MY TV" or elsewhere.
Is there somebody in the depth of the web, who could explain to a non specialist, how to go about, to make this card work on my system?
The Sat card and the external DVB-T card work with their own software (whereby the Pinnacle card tends to crash, when for instance I change channels too fast).

Or, do I have to buy another DVB-S card?

You really should be using TVServer for all the above cards, forget the word server and consider it more TV Service, that should then auto detect your cards.

Would be worrying about the Sat card crashing, are you using the latest drivers available for your card.

Thanks a lot for the immediate response!
Yes, I installed TV Server, I only forgot to mention it in my system description. But it had shown me only "actual Server: 4-3000" which seems to be the designation of the CPU in my Asus Pundit ( which by the way is a nice machine). When I click "change" I get no offers.

1. Meanwhile I totally uninstalled MP and TV Server.

2. I installed the BDA driver for my Cinergy T2 USB DVB-T device and reran the Soft for it. (works perfect by itself, found 45 stations in a not perfct rural environment)

3. I will look for newer drivers on the Pinnacle Homepage, and install them, if there are any (should it be BDA?)

4. I will reinstall MP and TV Server and look what happens.

Might take a couple of days. I will report!

Hello,
you won't find these drivers on the Pinnacle Homepage. What you need are the Stargate drivers - They work for me on my system.

Check out Stargate for the direct download. Driver version is 4.1.1.0 (Dec 2006), nothing newer is available. Install the driver package and MP will recognize your Dual Sat card.

Hi,
Excuse me for not reacting earlier. We had two deaths in the family. Now, that is over!
I tried the stargate drivers, which by the way are already part of the newer pinnacle drivers.
No success!
meanwhile I am running the machine with an external DVB-T box (TerraTec with their Home Cinema soft). This works perfect. Very nice skin and fast reaction!
But I still don´t have two receiving channels (one for watching, the other for recording). So, one of these days ,I have to get it working.

Karsten, it was not without reason that I inserted a link in my posting above. Uninstall the drivers that you have currently installed, download from the link I gave you, run the installer and you should be alright. By the way, you absolutely need to install the DVDFix before searching SAT channels.

Hi HTPC Sourcer,
spent another 3 hours on the installation, no success! MP does not recognize my Pinnacle card.
I think I give up, or are you willing to do the installation for me on my Pundit?
