Im pretty new to MP and i just need some initial help regarding a client setup. I have installed Mp on a client laptop and successfully connected to the server for TV. Is there a way for MP on the client machine to see all the configured folders for MovingPictures & MPTV Series without having to reset the entire folder structure on the client? Basically whenever i update my Tv series or Movies, I dont want to have to resync everything twice! I thought MP once connected to the server was able to mirror the databases?

thanks jorrell

MP doesn't currently have official centralised database support, that is something being introduced into MP2.

It is possible to share the databases see here:
    http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/UserGuides/CentralisedDatabases

Alternatively what I do is I have every media file named perfectly so that I actually never get any confirmation on importing new movies or tvseries.
I used to use http://www.therenamer.com but recently switched to http://filebot.sourceforge.net/

I like to use the trakt plugin for mediaportal to sync my watched status between clients and with the internet. It has the added advantage that if I reinstall MP I don't lose my watched history.

cheer man. thats saved me a lot of time trying to get things working. Im not sure i like the central database idea as i think this could get corrupted very easily. Ill try your suggestion with Filebot under MP2 is offically released. ta very much ;)
