First time poster here.

Has anyone has issues with Mediaportal TVserver and their USB Tuners?

Windows 8.1 picks them up and installs the drivers, TVServer picks them up but no matter what I do they will not tune any stations in.

I was using them on a windows 7 box with no issue and yes their is a TV signal coming in.

Any idea's?

System
NUC 2820
4GB
500gb WD
Windows 8.1 x64
Powered USB HUB
2 x WinFast DTV Dongle Gold
TVServer 1.7.1

Not to sure what info to pass on to get some advice etc. Log file or something?

    Hello and welcome :)

Windows 8.1 picks them up and installs the drivers...
So to be clear, using drivers from Microsoft?
Is that the same as what you did with Windows 7?

Not to sure what info to pass on to get some advice etc. Log file or something?
Debug tool, option 3 (export existing logs) please :)

Yes Windows 8.1 picks them up and installs them. Just to make sure I download the drivers as well and redid them, the same as with windows 7.
And no Windows actually installs the drivers from Leadtec.. Some driver date on both as well, ones that MS installs and the ones direct from Leadtec etc.

Here is my logs anyway. cheers.

Right, so there are no obvious errors, and I see you've tried the "preferred network provider" setting. For the record, I recommend you change "preferred network provider" back to generic and "when card enters idle state..." back to stop. More stable; more compatible.

I'm aware that Australia is going through the process of reshuffling DVB-T frequencies, so I take it you're 100% certain that the frequencies you're scanning are correct?

Does Leadtek have any software that you can test the tuner in?

I am starting to think this is more a Intel NUC / Windows 8.1 issue.

System crashes using any tv tuner software. And as far as I can see it is because either intel NUC / Windows 8.1 is seeing USB 2 ports as USB 3 ports and it causing the system to crash..

I disabled USB 3 in bios and tried to un-install usb3 driver but this did not help as everytime I go to troubleshoot the device under Devices & printers it tell me it is on a USB 3 port and may have issues.

Right, okay. I probably can't be much help then.
The only advice I'd offer is try to use drivers from the motherboard vendor, or the original chipset manufacturer (eg. Intel, Realtek) if possible. Microsoft drivers can sometimes be troublesome even if they're sourced from the vendor/manufacturer.

Yeah all cool. I have looked it up and yes it is a MS issue as in Windows 8/.1 they install their own USB3 hub stack, which then makes USB 2 ports virtual ports off the Microsoft USB3 hub controller which has caused heaps of issues with a lot of USB2 devices. (IE they are seen as keyboards for one thing lol)

I am just updating to windows 8.1 Update 1 to see if that fixes the issue and if not their is a post on how to install the INtel USB3 drivers for win7 x64 on 8.1 etc

Should have just stuck with Win7!

    Thanks for the help.

1: Yes it was Windows 8/.1 and the way they did their crap USB3 Hub driver etc. Which they did not fix in 8, 8.1 or 8.1 Update 1. Slack pricks!
2: Do not try the method above on Windows 8.1 as it will screw your all your USB ports and you will have to use repair mode to do a restore point :( lol
3: Re did the system (sigh so time consuming!) with Windows 7 and all is working as it should. Well so far anyway.
