I was having a problem with video stuttering until I went through the setup guide and setup the codecs based upon the recommendations. Now I am using MPAR for audio rendering for all modes and recorded tv works fine but I now have intermittent audio stutter when viewing Live TV. The live video looks fine, it's just the audio that stutters. Running MP 1.6. Any suggestions?

Yes, please post log files so we can help you.

Follow the instructions to reproduce the problem using the watchdog/debug tool option 1. When you get to the bit about reproducing the problem, simply play live TV for 30 to 60 seconds. Feel free to switch between a few channels so we can see you have the problem on both SD and HD channels etc.. After that, close MP and post the resulting zip file.

    Thanks,
    mm

Does it stutter when using another audio renderer e.g. Default DirectSound Device ?

For the benefit of Owlsroost and anybody else checking the logs...
    Channel 5001 = 5-1 = KXAS-DT = NBC

I don't see anything wrong on the TV Server side. Looks like there are a few "video to render late" and "audio to render late" messages in the TsReader log file though...

Have you tried not using MPAR for TV ?

It looks like what is happening is that your PC audio render 'clock' is running slightly faster than the broadcaster 'clock', so MP slowly runs out of data and eventually has to pause the playback to allow more data to be buffered - this is when you get the 'Pause 195 mS renderer clock to match provider/RTSP clock' messages in TsReader.log

It might help to increase the initial data buffering time - change the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Team MediaPortal\TsReader, set "BufferingDelayInMilliSeconds" to a (decimal) value in milliseconds (range is 0 to 2000, default is 0). Note - this will add delay to live TV channel changes since it needs to build up the buffer before play starts.

I was having bad video stuttering until I read the guide that recommended so use MPAR for the audio rendering. That seemed to fix everything until I noticed the live tv audio issue but it was very intermittent. I will try increasing the buffer. Thanks!
