Internet connection problem (1 Viewer)

My media Portal Doesnt seem to be able to connect to the internet to search for weather or rss feeds. i'm connected through a university network, so it isnt a direct connection. is there any way to change the connection settings or make it connect?

    Hi boozelclark,

    It's probably a firewall or proxy server that your univeristy has running. If so, there probably isn't much you can do about it.
    Mediaportal should use the settings in Control Panel->Internet Options.
    Have you tried using RSS feeds in another application, ie. Firefox or IE7? If that doesn't work either, then it's definitely a firewall or proxy server issue.

    i thought it might be that but i get rss feeds to my google toolbar in IE and infact one of them is from that exact same weather site. thanks for your help and ill keep trying.
