Hi, guys!

I've recently installed MP on my XP laptop and I'm still working my way through, so don't be too hard on me...

Question I have is where do I configure Internet connection parameters? My computer is connected to Internet but MP seems to not see that, since I wouldn't add radio stations or cities in Weather plug-in.
Do I need to configure smth. to let MP see Internet?

There is nothing to configure in MediaPortal - as long as you can access the internet with IE, then MP should connect, too ....

Like Taipan said, Mp uses the settings defined in Internet Explorer. Not too sure how MP will work behind a proxy server if IE is configured to use one though. From memory I don't think it worked too well. Not sure if that was fixed though.

    Thanks, guys!
I'm trying it at work so I guess proxy might be a problem. Will try it from home tonight...

I struggled with microsoft ICS and in the end I downloaded a free software that basically is a proxy server.

my living room mediaportal pc is connected via wireless to the pc running the little software and the pc running the software is connected to the internet.
I just had to set up the settings correct in IE and mediaportal worked just fine.

    good luck

Have you disabled the Windows XP Firewall? If so, tell us how your network is configured? PC > CAT 5E > DSL\CABLE ROUTER > DSL\CABLE Modem?

Do you get an IP address? Start>RUN>Type "CMD" Enter under the DOS prompt type ipconfig, what do you get?

    Regards, Hamish

Yep, Firewall is disabled. IP address is fine (it's assigned by corporate DHCP server). I think it's probably because of firewall or other stuff in a corporate network. Probably some ports are closed. I'll try from home on a weekend... Thanks for help!
