I want to watch TV from a website such as FilmOn, and I'm sure there must be a simple way to do what I want, but I haven't found it.
I watch TV via a satellite feed which works fine except when a heavy storm rolls in and cuts the signal. It would be great to have an alternative to watch TV via an internet feed, also for channels or TV shows I can't normally receive. The way I picture this would be a set of channels ("Internet TV") saved as a channel group in My TV - when the storm rolls in, I just switch TV Group and move over to Internet TV. This would also make the EPG simple as it would use the same grabs as my satellite TV.
Note that I do not have IPTV - I would just use TV feeds from a webpage such as FilmOn (https://www.filmon.com/tv/live) or Swisscom TV: http://web.tvonline.swisscom.ch/#en/
I figured this would be easy but can't find a way to do this in MediaPortal:
1. As I understand it, IPTV channels in TV config need a particular format that I don't receive. So this solution is out.
2. I tried the OnlineVideos plugin. This seems to work well for downloading videos, but I couldn't get FilmOn streams to load.
3. Just displaying a webpage within MP. This is a poor solution as navigating the page would be difficult, so I haven't looked into it yet.
Searching the forums didn't bring any answers. Has anyone done this?
All help gratefully received...
