IR Blasting not working with Directv H25-700 - using TV3 Blaster (1 Viewer)

OK, this was a fully functional setup using an Adaptec AVC-3610 combination dual tuner and IR Blaster - until I changed to Directv today. The previous setup differed only in the TV box - I swapped out a Sky Angel box for a Directv H25-700. No problem in setting up channels. Ditto guide config. I left the IR reconfig until last.

I went to the TV3 plugin config and taught it the new codes. No response from the box. I then used the test button in the learning dialog box to blast a digit to the H25. Still nothing. I was able to confirm that the emitter is transmitting - but the Directv box remains unmoved.

So, any ideas?

I did pick up some interesting info in the Sage TV forum (in a Google search). It seems that these boxes can be controlled over a network. The sage folks have come up with a driver to do just that. I wonder if the same thing could be made to work in MP?

You could try using some of the pre-made configs too. But failing that, I find if you play with the settings for delay in ms and such, you can get it working. Also for some strange reason, rebooting a few times and leaving it and then coming back can do wonders for no apparent reason.

Yeah, I did try some of the pre configs, they didn't work either - even though the remote is the same (at least externally). It was late, so I will try them all again

Apparently, in addition to tuning over the LAN, one can also use some kind of serial tuning too (USB, I assume). If anyone know how to set this up, PLEASE let me know!

The answer was network tuning! Complete directions can be found on this page, about halfway down. Basically, it uses prechange to call the network command line program that then changes the channel. Quick, easy and reliable.
