Hi Everyone,

First time MP'er, and almost got to the perfect system running. I have a hybrid card receiving DVB-T & Foxtel analog stream, EPG's working etc ... all good. The last piece of my puzzle is getting the IR blasting of the Foxtel box working.

I'm using a standard Microsoft Remote & Receiver and plugged the IR blaster cable into port_1. I have installed the latest IRSS software (that i could find anyway), selected the Foxtel 100 unit for the configuration and taken it out for a spin with the Test button within TV Server Config Tool.

The Problem:
When I test, say Channel 101, the IR light flashes three times but the numbers aren't registering on the Foxtel unit. I have tried from within MP client as well and dont get any flashes at all when selecting a foxtel channel. First things first though, any ideas about how i can further test my setup? What Log files are useful for troubleshooting this?

Version info:
MP TV Server: SVN 1.0.4.24669
IRSS: 1.4.2.3344
Foxtel Box: Small slim grey unit, Sim card in front panel, onlly modelish number i can see is RS-232-C
O/S : Windows 7

I've gone with the latest SVN to try and overcome some of the Windows 7& MP issues i've read about on the forums and so far so good. This is the only thing I'm unsure how to get going.

Thanks in advance,

Mitch

Hi I dont know if this is your problem, but it is very important that you place the Microsoft IR-transmitter bud very precisely over the IR-receiver on your Foxtel unit (sometimes this is difficult to locate).

If you still have a problem, I would suggest that you teach IR-suite some new Foxtel codes, just to make sure that the codes which are being used is recognized by your Foxtel. If you try to lear new codes it is very important that your Foxtel remote is placed only a few cm from the Microsoft receiver.

I hope this will help you

thx sbp,
I had a bit more of a play without any joy :(
I did a "clear all" to remove the foxtel default settings and tried to make some new IR command entries from learning the remote. I cant do this either for some reason. I click the learn button, point the foxtel remote at the MCE receiver and click a button (i've tried many of them now!). The red light within the receiver flashes once, which tells me it has received a signal, but all I get is a learn time out from the software .... scratching head here.

I should add that I am confident the MCE receiver is working fine as I can drive the media client completely with the MCE remote.

Anyone had any setup experiences like this?

Hey - this is an old thread but figured I'd upload my foxtel IR commands incase anyone ever needed em :) (good deed for the decade!)

BTW IR Server Suite - Test Build 1.4.2.3158 is the best version I've found :)
