Those "external" files are no more necessary. From build 2391 on they are integrated in the main install.

I've been trying to get irserver to work for blasting my humax dvb-c settopbox.
Everything seems to be working, accept i cannot get it to blast channels from within mediaportal.

I'm using mediaportal version 1 (single seat install, so tvserver is installed on the same box). After setting up the stb channel switching works perfectly with the test buttons.
I've read in the documentation that i should set up external channels for the channels which need to be blasted.

But i have no option in tvserver to do that!?
I can only setup analog, dvb-c, dvb-s, dvb-t, atsc and webstream, so i tried setting up analog channels with svhs#1 as source but that doesn't seem to work.

I get an error in mediaportal saying 'unable to start timeshift, no free card available'.

Does anybody know a solution for this?

stupid, stupid me... i forgot to map the svhs channels to my tv card.
So, i've mapped them and now everything is working like a charm!

I thought that everyhting was working perfectly, i have one issue however with a few buttons.
The info and channel up and channel down button don't work correctly. I seems like these button actions are fired twice when i press them.

When I'm watching channel 2 for example and press channel up, it switches to channel 4 instead of 3.
When i select a channel from the tv guide, everything works perfectly.

Anyone knows a solution for this?

Nevermind, forgot to disable the mce-remote setting in mediaportal configuration.
Disabled the remote and now everthing works like it should!

I am new and only have one simple question. The earlier replacement driver was very slow. How about this on - is it as fast as the original MCE driver?

I would like to avoid slow responsivenes when having for instance high CPU usage...anyona has any input?

The only thing I am not able to figure out is - how do you program volume and arrow buttons to send IR signals. I have got it working for other keys on my MCE remote, but it will no work for the mentioned buttons - anyone...pleeeease....If I get this working I have the most fantastic mediacenter ;-)

I use the IR Server Suite - Test Build 1.4.2.2391 and on two machines with the same mce remote (vista only trust remote) one on vista and one on XP the Input service does not work directly after bootup. On both machines I need to restart the Input service to make it work properly. After that it normally keeps running without any problems.

Anyone any idea how to solve it?

See the signature of And-81 for the link the You don't need the MCE Replacement Driver post. There it is explained how to disable the default button behaviour so that the IR suite can handle them.
I only have an issue with the power button, it keeps putting my machine in standby.

First off, thank you and-81 for a great plugin! Unfortunately I'm having a little problem with it. I'm trying to use it to control my STB via firewire. I've installed Tim Moore's MCE 2005 STB Controller suite and the drivers needed for my cable box. When I use channel.exe -f 2 103 (force the channel change on the box to channel 103) via the command line, it works just fine. I've got a similar command as a run command setup for each of the keys in the TV3 Blaster Plugin for IR Suite as follows:

Program: C:\Program Files\Timmmoore\MCE 2005 STB Controller\channel.exe
Start in folder: C:\Program Files\Timmmoore\MCE 2005 STB Controller
Parameters: -f 2 %2
Window Style: Hidden

It's odd though, everytime it types a channel it double types it....from the logfile:

And, for the life of me I can't find the setting that prevents it from doing that. I've got the Channel Digits set to 3. I can literally watch my STB freak out as soon as this plugin starts to try to send commands. It's like it's always typing in one extra # when trying to tune it. Anyway, my basic is as follows: I'm using a SVN build of Media Portal from 12/22/08 (the last one with a working patch made by garry for the Hauppage HD-PVR), IR Server Plugin 1.0.4.2 and the TV3 Server from the same SVN date. Attached you'll find my logfiles. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone.
