IR - STB - repeats? (1 Viewer)

I finally got MP installed and running fairly nicely. Quite confused when installing, I went into installing everything I could think of and once working. (well now I want to remove what I don't need).

For example - I had IR suite running, Girder, and MP remote plug ins... (quite a mess) but once it worked. I started to remove things. I've removed, girder, ir-suite, and a IR server plugin I didn't think I was using.

What I think is working (bare bones) is in TV server conf. I have Plug-ins "TV3 Blaster PLuin for IR server"
I've removed most everything else.

So lets get to the issue.

In this plugin - I configured it like this.

In PLUG IN SETUP tab (I click STB setup button)

TV card1 tab (I only want to get this one working for now).
I did a QUICK SETUP and loaded in dish 301/defaults. (Which seem to work). PRELOADED for my VIP 222k STB.

I have MS wait between digits at 300 (works, I didn't really adjust other than taking it down from 400)
No pre-change command
no send select command
no send select twice checked
channel digits "simple" (which I think it just the ones I enter for example channel 3 is 3 rather than 003?)
repeat 0
repeat delay 0

Below it says TEST I enter a change and click test and the channel changes. (I'm doing this on my desktop in basement, it sends IR to my USB-IRT upstairs which blasts the STB. ALL IT WELL! the channel changes nicely.
(I leave Marco's and IR command tabs blank)

Click OK - run MP.

TV on - watching MP and TV inset on my desktop. (Or upstairs on TV). key in the channel on my keypad. "3".
I see the STB respond with 3333...333 or some such. (more than once) I suspect if I turn on 3 digital channels it might display 003 003 003 and that might work, but I don't want the repeats. As is - it tries to change the channel to 333. (which is a sub channel on dish and I have to run up to the STB to hit PREV to get back out of it.

If I change channel to say 186... it works, but I see it entered 2-3 times.
I've searched all over for where the repeats could be configured in.

any ideas!?

:D

P.S. Inside media portal config. I have IR blast zone plugin (enabled) do I need this?
I have MP control plugin for IR server (enabled) do I need this?

I wonder if I have repetitive configs that are duplicating my comamnds.
I have USB-UIRT (under remote) toggled off) only because it says driver not loaded) when it is.
Seems to conflict with something else, because I've seen it display the driver doing my last week or configuring.

I'm seeing a similar problem with a new install of MP 1.3 and IRSS. The summary: TV3 Blaster is blasting each channel digit 3 times, rather than once: e.g. channel "365" is blasted as "333666555" to the STB.

Details:

I'm trying to use a USB-UIRT to change channels on a set top box. In the TV server config, in the plugin page for TV3 Blaster, I can configure the USB-UIRT correctly. I can use the STB setup page to assign a command to each digit (the command is to blast the learned IR code for that digit).
The wait between digits is 500ms.
No prechange command
Send select is checked.
Send select twice is not checked.
channel digits simple
repeat 0
repeat delay 0

When I test a digit in the setup (TV server config), it gets sent correctly and STB receives the digit, and only receives the digit once. Thus, if I test the "2" digit, the STB registers a "2" was received.

However, when in MP itself, when I try to change channels, each digit gets sent three times. Thus, if I select channel "2", the STB receives "222" rather than "2<enter>". Likewise, if I select channel "365", the STB receives "333666555" rather than "365<enter>".

Can anyone get me pointed in the correct direction to get the USB-UIRT working correctly? Why is there a difference in behavior between the TV server config program and MP itself?

AFAIK - You only need the tvserver component, and for that you have two choices,

    Either
    - the built in IR blaster tvserver plugin
    - or the IRSS blaster tvserver plugin (3rd party plugin)

Hmmm.. Are you suggesting that I might have 2 different blaster components in operation at the same time? That's an interesting idea. Perhaps they are both blasting.

I have definitely installed the IRSS plugin, but I'm not aware of the "built in IR blaster tvserver plugin". I will investigate. But I'm pretty sure that I've only configured TV3 Blaster, which is part of IRSS. There certainly seem to be a lot of blaster programs.

    Kiwi:
Your comments got me looking around, and I think I've solved the problem, but I remain confused about blaster components.

    First the solution:
    1) I was configuring the USB-UIRT blasting through the MP TV server configuration application (i.e. the "TV3 blaster plugin for IR Server" listed in plugins). That was clearly necessary to get blasting mapped to each TV card, but I was still getting 3 digits blasted for each channel digit. (e.g. channel "2" would get blasted as "222").
    2) I opened the IRSS tray applet, selected the configuration option, and then in the list of IR blasters supported, I found the USB-UIRT entry and clicked on the "configure" button for that IR blaster. A simple dialog box opened that had only 3 entries, one being "repeat count", which was indeed, set at 3. Changing this repeat count to 1 has worked (e.g. channel "2" now gets blasted as "2"). So the "repeat count" entry in the TV3 Blaster plugin configuration is either ignored, or is overridden by the IRSS tray applet, or some combination of the two.

So I remain a bit confused by the blaster components. I'm not clear what you mean by the "built in IR blaster tvserver plugin." I'm also not clear if both the TV3 blaster plugin is something different from the IRSS (since they seem to work somewhat independently), or if TV3 blaster is part of IRSS--it's listed in the MP TV server configuration program as "TV3 blaster plugin for IR Server", which I assume means IRSS.

I may try uninstalling IRSS and see if I still have a TV3 blaster plugin" in the TV server configuration. I'm not at all clear if IRSS is needed to just blast channel numbers at a STB using a USB-UIRT.
