    Hi,

I am using the latest beta of IRSS(1.4.2). With the other stable build(1.0.4.1) I never really got the IR blasting to work within MP 1.0.

After I made TV3 Blaster Plugin for IR Server learn all the codes of my STB remote, I am able to change channels using the MCE remote from within MP. Then after a few hours, some of the IR codes for the numeric buttons (1-9) of the STB do not work while some do. If I go to TV Server Configuration | TV3 Blaster Plugin for IR Server and test the learnt numeric IR values only some of them blast the correct code (sometimes no code at all) to the STB. This does not happen with all the numeric codes but about half of them.

If I re-learn the numeric button IR codes for the STB, everything works OK but only for sometime. Any idea why?

    Another important thing to note:
When I start MP the MCE remote does not work. I have to do an Alt+TAB and close MP Watchdog. Then I can use the up and down arrows to select My TV. After the enter my TV and select "TV On" and go into fullscreen TV I cannot go back to the previous menu by pressing the back button of the MCE remote (The keyboard equivalent of Esc). At this time if I start IR Server Config and click OK without making any changes all my direction keys and back key works fine.

Again, this works only for a couple of hours or so until the problem of losing IR codes happen.

What all logs should I enable and where are they written?

This is really killing me. What is the solution to my problems?

    Thanks,
    Srikanth

I am moving your thread to the relevant sub forum. Maybe someone there can help you with the dissapearing codes.

Did you try MPTrayMod for the focus problem?
This version fixes the inital focus issue, and also changes focus to already running MediaPortal when green button is pushed

Do. I have not tried the MPTrayMod. I will try it.

Again, this morning the IR codes disappeared. It is so frustrating not know what the root cause is!!!:mad::mad:

when you tried IRSS 1.0.4.1 , did you download and install the patch for blasting (from the same page/thread as where you download the main program). This is something I had to do to make my blasting work flawless;1.0.4.2 Beta gave me some trouble to.

My setup is same as guytpetj. Version 1.0.4.1 with patch in post 35 (I think) of IR Server Suite thread.

You should have a entry on your start menu to take you to te logs directory.

As rekenaar had pointed out in of the earlier threads, I had the 1.0.4.1 with the patch from post# 34. That did not help. I got some weird error that I do not remember now but many others too have reported it. I never found a solution for that on any other thread. The only way the MCE remote works properly is when I use 1.4.2 beta. It works out of the box.

I have two problems with it.

    1) Suddenly the remote stops working. The solution is to restart IR Server Config.
    2) IR commands for some of the numbers (they are not always the same numbers) are lost mysteriously. The solution for that is to Re-learn the IR Codes.

Obviously, my remote is not one of the supported ones out of by IRSS or MP. I have a pronto too. Would it help if I create a .IR file for each of the remote keys and then create a custom remote and load it?

I have attached log file from yesterday. Please see the following in TV Server Error Log

2009-01-15 20:17:22.548000 [GenericPCQueue]: TV3BlasterPlugin: Failed to blast IR command

Can you also check your IR Server Suite logs?

I think it will be difficult for someone to help with those log files. Your MP logs and IRSS logs do not match up. MP tvservererror is for 20090115. Inputserver is for 20090117.

Can you delete ALL log file in MP, TVServer and IRSS.

Try to reproduce your problems and then attach all logs agin.
