Hi there

Just setting up a new HTPC and wanted to get IR blasting set up using my Microsoft eHome transceiver. Tried the serverblaster that comes with Mediportal TV Server and although I could get it to learn the required codes fine, and they worked when I tested them from within blaster.exe, nothing was sent to the set-top box (the blaster didn't even flash) when I tried previewing channels in TV Server.

Moved to IRSS 1.4.2.3060 and learnt the codes, but when I test them they don't work. I can see the blaster flashing so it is trying to send them, but the set-top box is just ignoring them. I can see that the codes are being flashed when I test in the learn area, in the set-top box setup area, and when I preview channels in TV Server, but to no effect.

This is incredibly frustrating as I know that the blaster works as I can learn the codes and test them fine in blaster.exe, and I can see that IRSS is transmitting something to the set-top box, but it just isn't the right thing for some reason.

Any suggestions?

i have the same problem blasting the code to the set-top-box. can anyone help please. i tried serverblaster and IR server suite (all the latest builds) but no luck. ir learning is difficult (fails most of the time) and even after success, does not change anything on set-top-box.

please help us and all who are suffering

Be sure you have the end of the blaster cable right in front of the lens of the STB's IR sensor. I have mine dangling in front of my STB about 1/8 of an inch away.

yes it blasts because it blinks the light in it. it was almost between 1-3cm while i was blasting. this variation is because it fails ir learning most of the time and i keep moving it back and forth for success. even after the successful IR learning, testing it does not change anything of the set-top-box. I tried with IR sensor stick in front of the STB and also within 2-4cm while blasting. I badly need some solution for blasting from MP please .....
