I believe that the following TV3 behaviors is flawed and should be re-looked at…

    (p.s. I have a single TV-card, with a satellite-decoder going into the s-video, and channel changing happening via IR-Blaster)

    1) I think the following happens because I have only one TV-card….

    - First I schedule a recording for example on channel “Discovery” to start in 10min…

    - Now I watch another channel, for example “Fashion TV”, while I’m waiting for the program to start on “Discovery”.

    - At the scheduled time for the recording, I get a message popping up that states “Time shifting stopped due to a scheduled recording”, after which my TV goes black.

    - If I want to continue watching TV, I now have to go to ‘TV Streams’ and connect to the recording stream.

    2) Now the next issue screws up my recordings on a regular basis.....

Let’s assume we continue on from where point-1 above stopped… the recording has been running for 30min while I was outside playing with my dogs…

    - My TV is black because of point-1 and I decide I’m going to connect to the “Discovery” TV-stream so that I can watch the show.

    - As soon as I connect to the TV-Stream the channel changes again in the middle of the program. To clarify this, I’m busy recording the “Discovery” channel, therefore my TV-Card and Satellite-decoder is already on “Discovery” , but as soon as a Client connects to the TV-stream the channel on the satellite-decoder is changed again giving me the 2sec channel-change delay, and the information-bar from the satellite-decoder flashing again.

    - Now at watching stage it is just an irritation, but when I watch the recording afterwards I get this 2sec delay and flashing information-bar in the middle of my recordings.

What makes this issue even worst is that I have a separate client setup in my office so that I can watch TV from there, which means that sometimes I have 2 or 3 flashing information-bars in my recording from every time a client connects to a TV-stream.

I hope that something can be done about this.....

Sorry Roy...I did not mean to rant :D :sorry:
Can you confirm that this TV3-Server behavior is how it was designed...it feels like it was functionality that was overlooked or designed incorrectly...especially point-2 :D

I don't see any ranting in this post..the only thing I see is a proper and fully descriptive behaviour of the bad usability that sometimes shows it ugly face - which I believe is the product of the missing usability-tests of MP :)

OK...so there was a  and some

Now...I love MP, don't worry about that. But I can understand the critic and think it's in it's place.

The best way to avoid any problem for your 2nd point is to use TV-Streams choice in the menu and connect on the current stream.

    Hi,
About "issue" 2, do you mean it changes the channel on sat box before it detects that it actually is recording & switches back(if then need some logs to see whats happening, cause that doesn't sound likes correct handling)?

Btw, If you're going to make a bug thread, only 1 issue/post or, yeah you know ;)

I think the answer to your question is "Yes", its switches to the same channel even while the recording is active....

I have attached the link to an sample recording....everytime the yellow information-bar flashes is when I'm connecting to the current-stream from an "Client"....

    RapidShare: Easy Filehosting

I have also attached the log's as requested....

    Hi,
Hmm, it seems like it it blasts before status is evaluated(are we already playing/recording so do nothing just hock up to stream) which means it could be a plugin problems with TVE3 Blaster.

Hi Roy, so are you saying that it only happens with the IR-Server-Suite plug-in and when channels are changed via IR-blaster? It’s strange that I'm the only one that noticed this problem, especially because there are many users of this plug-in..... Is there anyone that can help us fix this, because I believe "Aaron" (and-81) is not really looking after this any longer?

    Hi,
I'm not 100% sure where the prob is, i know using tuners in TV-Server & this doesn't happen because of evaluation. I'm not sure how this plugin works either, since i'm not using external -> to svhs input(or similar, can set up something to test but will not be this week, i think).
and-81 is around just very busy, i was hoping someone else around was using this & had tested something else (like the internal blaster & how that one worked out)...

    Regards
    Roy
