Is MediaPortal Standalone? (1 Viewer)

Actually I'm not that concerned if it is standalone. But more concerned about what files I should be backing up so that I don't have to go through the pain of setting everything up again. Things I am doing now include:

- General MediaPortal Settings
- MyPrograms (Game Info, downloading info from allgames)
- Plugins / Skin setup

The second one is the kicker, I would hate to have to setup this database again, and download all this stuff again..

Not sure about MyPrograms but your general settings are stored in MediaPortal.xml and in the database\ folder. Any skins that arent installed by default you will need to backup as well as plugins (but dont keep the plugins folder as replacing it after a new install might replace files that have been updated since).

pkkid AFAIK MP is pretty much standalone, inc. all the plugins I have tested yet (myprograms too)

in fact I have verified it by using my old installation on a FRESH XP install (but same hardware of course), by just installing the latest stable, dropping the latest copy of the old installation over, then installing the latest SVN (I was following SVN back then - something that I will soon start again) over that and running the .bat to do all the re-registrations

I am even planning on a... "dual MP" installation (by using a batch that renames two MP folders and reregisters everything)
