I was wondering if my Integrated Video Card is causing issues with me starting MediaPortal. I get to the Initializing DirectX... and it hangs. I've had it go past that and the pause happens at Loading Plug-in's...

So my built in video card is Intel(r) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset family

I know the website indicated that this is the Minimum.
Intel Extreme Graphics 2 (integrated i865G)

I'm not sure if my card is enough and if this is my directX stall issue or what.

I also ran the Zip file and when I look at the MediaPortal.log or Error.log I got the below error indicated.
D3D: Exception: Warning: Nothing will be rendered.
The reference rendering device was selected, but your
computer only has a reduced-functionality reference device
installed. Please check if your graphics card and
drivers meet the minimum system requirements.

Oviously this leads me to believe that it's my Video Card, but just want to make sure.
I have a new card coming, a GIGABYTE GV-R455D3-512I Radeon HD 4550 512MB 64-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card. My hope is this will work :)

Thanks

Please try start MP in window mode instead of fullscreen, maybe a warning/error dialog is hidden behind...

Well your right there was an error pop-up, it was behind the MediaPortal splash screen. It was kinda hardto read, but I believe it was the error that is in the Log file. But it did go past that and load plug-ins. Then went to a screen that shows File Options Wizards. But it also appears to not work and lock up as it shows remnants of icons from my desktop. I can click on file and exit and I get the crashed unexpectedly error.

Below is the error log info..

    Update

Well lastnight I got my new HD Video Card installed in to the PC and started up MediaPortal. All went fine no issues or errors.

So Thanks for all your help and I look forward to picking the brains of the masses with future set-up and install questions.

    Thanks
