is recording working properly? It stopped working for me about a week ago. recording as .ts doesnt work. it creates a file but will not playback (it won't open on another computer either - it appears to be corrupted). If I record as mpg, standard definition files record (mind you the picture jumps every 10 seconds), and hd files record fine but with no sound. I've reinstalled, run graphedit, run filmerit and everything checks out ok. Anyone else having problems?

adding usetsreader.txt doesnt change anything.

Working here using ts format, TVE3 ver 16361.

Sounds like you have something corrupted on your system, try doing a system restore to a point previous to your problem, if you can.

Well, if something is corrupted, I can't figure it out. I thought recorded .ts files in MP were just wrapped up mpg files. So why would mpg sort of work (except no audio in HD recordings) and not work at all in the .ts format. I've downloaded some .ts files and they playback fine. tvserver uses .ts files to get the video to MP and that is working fine (I can watch TV), so why would just the recording fail?

I've attached my log files. I opened MP, opened TV, selected record. Recorded for 1 minute. stopped the record and played the .ts file back. exited MP. If I copy the .ts file to my other machine and try to open with Graphedit, it says it can't open the file, it's either corrupt or not supported. MP tries to play it - screen goes black for two seconds, goes back to menu.

edit : just found this in the logs : Unable to create/modify gentle.config Could not find file 'C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Start Menu\Programs\MediaPortal\gentle.config'., at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath)

not sure what gentle.config is
