Is SP1 necessary for vista 32? (1 Viewer)

I have ordered a dbv-c and am planning on using it on my Vista Home Premium. I know that SP1 hasn't been installed but when I go to windowsupdate, SP1 does not come up as an install option. So my quesiton is does MP need SP1 in order to have a stable install?

Yes, what updates are actually shown, did you download them and then see if SP1 shows up (have SP1 disk, so unable to confirm what shows up in windows update), may need a updated windows installer, remember MP relies on Windows being fully up to date.

If you go to start menu\computer and select properties there, does it show SP1

Under Windows edition, it says Windows Vista Home Premium and SP1 is not in Installed Updates.

and SP1 is not in Installed Updates.

It just shows as "service pack (kb936330), under programs\view installed updates.

If you cannot get it from MS Windows update, then try Download details: Windows Vista Service Pack 1 All Language Standalone CD ISO

Got a bit more time to look at it this weekend. Finally after a few important updates and an update of my realtek audio driver, I had the option for SP1
