Is there a HD (AVIVO/PUREvideoHD) faq yet? (2 Viewers)

I have cyberlink powerdvd ultra 7.3(patched to latest version) to use purevideoHD and many other formats. the player interface well stinks. it does however use like 10% of my 1.8ghz core 2 duo at 40megabit (vc-1/mpeg2/h.264/xvid) @ 1920P max.

Also plan to get CMI8768 (Auzeuntech Xplosion 7.1) for full time 7.1 output (passthrough as well) installed monday since the shipped is slow (geeks dot com). This card rox sox with DTS NEO6 on 2 channel to toslink and all ac3/dd/dts pass-thru. Perfect 32bit vista drivers too.

How do you arrange the codecs to make use of purevideoHD so i can stream 40+ megabit 1080P? and audio pass-thru?

Anyone got a setup like mine? or point me to the thread lol there are so many forums and messages

I tried using the powerdvd codecs but got a black screen. I used the default setup and it played but looked really bad compared to powerdvd (like 30% the quality of the latest beta purevideo HD).

help a n00b out if you don't mind asking. I'm guessing maybe i'll need to bust out graphedit or something to flowchart the codecs?

After seeing how dismal the state of XBMC-linux project is, i thought my dying xbox1 would be better off running Vista.32 with PurevideoHD (8600 GT OC). I don't think they'll ever be able to catch up to Vista for video acceleration and audio processing.

While coreavc 1.5.0.0 can work well the quality i've seen is much poorer than purevideoHD (which is just a wee bit better than AVIVO). Just that VISTA+PurevideoHD = stable. Where as AVIVO (2600XT)=unstable drivers over and over.

What version of Media Portal are you using?

Are you using TV server?

I upgraded to the latest SVN and mine started to work correctly with the PowerDVD 7.3 patch codecs. I am using an HD2400pro and it is working.

care to give any tips on the codec selections? you using what player with media portal?

i've got purevideohd similar and coreavc professional(software) i guess you need mkv (haali?) or something to split the streams?

got any diagrams or screen shot you can share?

an faq/troubleshooting guide would be a great thing! i´ve been trying to get hd channels to work in mp for a while now, but no success so far.

h264 codecs i tried:
- ffdshow: codec listed in mpconfig, but mp hangs when switching to hd channel.
- coreavc: codec listed, but i only get the top left corner of the picture, zoomed in (got a picture in this thread: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/hilfe_config_um_endlich_hd_sender_ansehen-t26906.html?p=173577 )
- mainconcept: h264 encoder v2.1 donwloaded and registered h264 filter with radlight filter manager (no setup included with encoder) - codec listed in mpconfig, mp shows no picture though.
- elecard: mpegplayer and xmuxer installed - no codec listed in mpconfig.
- intervideo: windvd8 platinum installed - no codec listed in mpconfig.
- nero: nero7 premium installed - no codec listed in mpconfig.

coreavc works absolutely flawless here since the first minute

coreavc doesn't use hardware at all. plus the quality is far inferior if you are really into that. like maybe 20-30% of the 8600GT using purevideohd. for real. you have to be a pessimist to notice that difference but its alot.

i was about to give up on hd after the ordeal i went through...but, now i´m looking forward to next week when eins festival starts up a hd channel for the duration of the IFA.


another thing: i read somewhere that purevideo hd is embedded in the forceware drivers and can´t be downloaded separately, is that correct? sucks, cause i´m kind of stuck with the old forceware drivers that were on the vgx201 out of the box(whenever i try different drivers i can´t set resolution higher than ~720x360 widescreen or 800x600).

Are you having problems switching between channels?

From a HD to a SD channel I get a black screen but if I turn off TV and back on it comes back on.
