Is there a MP menu "lite"? (1 Viewer)

My HTPC has a mediocre integrated video card and only 3 PCI slots (not even AGP!). I got it as a gift from a friend. MP runs well BUT the menus have a very slow response as the card cannot keep up with the rewriting. I cannot put a better card on it because the ports are only PCI and where I live there's no PCI video cards to be found (nor would I like to spend 30% of the cost of a new, more advanced PC in shipping aof such a vintage article).

Is there a "light" version of the MP menu? XBMC works smoothly with my PC, but I don't like it as much and also it refuses to play my music (XBMC closes as soon as I select a music folder).

MP1.0.2 is lighter on video resources, but you have not got so much "bling", RC2 should be less gpu hungry when it is released.

If memory allocation for gpu can be adjusted in bios, see if you can set it to 256mb, that may also help along with latest drivers for mobo.

Thank you. I don't quite remember why I dumped 1.0.2 for RC1. The shared video memory can only be set to 64mb and I'm using the latest drivers. Seems like OpenGL programs have a much easier time on this GPU.
A good improvement, though, was achieved by installing the LCARS skin. It seems it's got less 3D effects.

I'll wait for RC2.
