Is what I have enough to support Media Portal? (1 Viewer)

Gonna make the switch!
I have a box with these specs:
Athlon XP 1700+
1GB RAM
ATI Radeon 7000 64mb
Hauppauge 150 MCE
M-Audio 7.1 sound card
MCE remote
WinXP Pro SP2 (MCE 2005)
ASP.NET 2.0

Is this gonna be enough to use MediaPortal to it's fullest potential?
Will my MCE remote be supported out of the box or what steps will I need to do to have it supported?

The video card looks too dated but the rest looks fine. The MCE remote is supported out of the box.

All is o.k. except for your videocard. Support for DirectX 8.1 is the minimum requirement. Yours supports up to DirectX7.
If you're going to buy a new one, buy one with DirectX9 support.

It will run, it will just be unusable. The UI will result in very high cpu usage (up to 100% on some systems) just idling in the main menu. Some have better results but youll probably have trouble just watching tv.

you can buy a much better card for (much) less than $100

Forget you ever saw MediaPortal

Correct. It is impossible to run MP with that card. 32MB is possble, but 128MB is reccomendable.
