thanks.
I tested some different shells (Cyberlink Powercinema, Meedio, etc), and all, except MediaPortal, run on my card correctly. maybe with bike speed, not ferrari, but run.
I hope MediaPortal have hidden option, like "run on oldest card, without any modern effects" :)
and if MediaPortal does not have this option, I think, need to create it :)
this is my opinion :)

and thanks for all for very quicks answers :)

PS sorry for my ugly english :)

need to create it? why?

take the time to rebuild all interface backbone just to support some obsolete VGA cards (that are getting less and less by the day?)

after all how can a MEDIA computer have such a vga card?

sorry, but you can buy something 100 times better with less than 100 or even less than 50 euro (or dollars)...

I use a 35 euro Ati Radeon 9250 128MB which works perfectly.
Whaterver you buy.... leave the nVidia FX series alone!!! These cards seriously suck.

Thats nonsense. Half the development team spent over half of MP's lifetime using FX5200. Before the 6000 series the FX5200 was the most highly recommended card on this forum. The 6000 series are a better option now given their easy availability, but in no way do the FX series suck for MP use.

No, they suck in general. Just start comparing performance with the concuring cards of Ati (9xxx series). I've had two FX cards (5200 and 5600). And I have 2 Ati cards (9250 and 9600). Both in the same price catagory, but major difference in performance. Altough thats mostly notisable in 3D.

all components on my HTPC have cost approx. 50-70$ :)
Celeron-1700, 128RAM, 40Gb HDD, NEC DVD-ROM, ATI XPERT98, all "second hand" :)
I dont need any tuners, because I have TV and I dont need record translations, timeshifting and other nice stuff.
This PC I use only for DVD, Divx/Xvid and mp3 playback...

for obsolete VGA cards, maybe you right...

an ancient ATI XPERT98 should cost no more than $10 (in fact I wouldn't buy it even for $10)

give another 50 and buy a real graphics card (no don't buy an nVidia TNT)
