Synopsis::

I think this is directx related as when I select exclusive directx in Config, I can't see the Web browser if I have previously used My TV or My Videos. When I say I cant see the web Browser, I get the browser screen with the topbar controls but just the skin background visible on the rest of the page. If I use a page with an auto refresh I can see the skin bkg flickering. If I use My trailers then I can see the Web Browser but this disappears again as soon as I use my videos or my tv. When I deselect exclusive directx mode the web browser displays correctly all the time, but the TV sucks for the usual reasons apart from the crappy american programming!

Synopsis::

I have exactly the same problem. The webbrowser plugin works fine if i do not use the tv, i am also using the exclusive direct x mode. It's as if the webbrowser plugin is unable to take the focus back after the tv has been used. I used to et this problem in RC2 and RC3 if i was watching tv and went straight to the webbrowser section without stopping the tv before doing so, however on previous versions if i exited the webbrowser plugin, stopped the tv in the home screen and then returned to the webbrowser plugin in all would be fine again. So is the tv not releasing something after it has been stopped? I find this one of the most useful plugins (can see my work schedule online) and would be really keen to see it back to a useful state.

Videocard do not support DX9

I'm pretty sure mine does, the issue is not that webbrowser and tv dont work just that webbrowser can no longer be used after tv. I'm pretty sure this is software related as previously worked ok and efros specs are significantly different to mine.

I tried as efros has unchecking the "use exclusive directx mode" in the general setup section and the problem no longer occurs. But not really the ideal solution. Here is my recorder log when i started tv, stopped it and then entered webbrowser, this is with the exclusive directx mode enabled as i would prefer and which causes the problem.

I dont know much about this stuff but i see at one point exclusive Directx mode is enabled. At no point is it disabled later on could this be the cause?

Here is my VMR9 log from the same time

I cant comment on this issue for RC3 or RC2 as I wasn't using the web browser when I had these installed. I do have an fx5200 in another machine and I'll try that at some point in the next couple of days and report my findings here.

Hi efros, try this for me as i think i'm at the root of the problem. It has nothing to do with your graphics card. Use mediaportal so as to create the fault with webbrowser. Then exit webbrowser and play a track from your my music selection (ensure you are using the default media player and have the visualisations enabled). Stop the track and then return to webbrowser. Hey presto its working again! (i hope :D ).

On my system when i use the tv i get a flicker as it enters, i guess this is from it entering the exclusive directx mode, it used to flicker when it exited tv but now it no longer does (see above post from recorderlog). I can create that flicker by using the mediaplayer within MP to play a track as it must somehow disbale the exclusive directx before playing or exiting the visualisations.

I think this is the problem but i cannot program, if a developer could help with this i'd be very grateful.

I think you're right, using the music visualization does the same as when I exit My trailers after having played a trailer, seems to reset dx9. exiting the TV area or stopping the TV if you have timeshifting enabled does not. Hmm think there may be a single line of code missing: reset dx9.
