Yes, the Conductor is correctly taken from a M4A file.

There was an error in procesing non-mp3 files in MPTagThat 3.01.

get the version 3.0.2 and there you can fill in the Conductor and it will be retrieved correctly by MediaPortal.

It is written as "cond" into m4a. Checked with a hex editor as well.

I finally know what's going on. MPTagThat and MediaPortal use an MP4 atom called cond, MP3Tag uses the generic atom com.apple.iTunes with a name of cond (or any other name). So, if I want to use the conductor on MP4 files in MediaPortal, I have to use MPTagThat. Alternatively, I could use the Composer field.
