Right, whole collection of problems which are all related but I cannot work out what caused it or how to fix it.

I was using an older SVN but just tried upgrading using MediaPortal-svn--03-26-2007--19-46-Rev13616.exe to see if it would correct the fault, but no luck.

Description of problems:

Media Portal Setup recognises tvcards and acknowledges channels assigned to the cards, and webEPG happily downloads the listings for the cards as well.

But when I open MyTV, the tv starts to play (its set not to) and when I change the channel I get the following message "No TV tuner available to play 30 mins"
If I open the tvguide it has "no channel" down one side and "no data available" across the screen (remember I just said I used WebEPG to download the listings, but nothing appears)

Media Portal is seemingly trying to record TV still but I cannot access the above things to do any more.

Just prior to this happening I had been watching some recorded tv from last night when everything was fine.

I have run a full scan disk to check the OS HDD is ok and it seems fine, also the HDD for recording checked out ok (its only a month old anyway so I should hope so)

I tried deleting the tvguide.xml created by WebEPG and created a new one but that doesn't help the tvguide in media portal.

And I almost forgot, if I try to turn off the tv in MyTV and then switch it on again it plays fine but I cannot select the channel as no tuners??? But if I try to fullscreen Media Portal completely freezes up with a black screen and I have to end task it to get back to the desktop.

Any ideas? I'm not a very happy bunny right now :( :(

    Hi,
You should attach all logs in "MediaPortal\log" to your post.
Check if channels are mapped to your tuner card in MP Setup (configuration) -> Television, etc.

ahhh damn those logs knew I would forget something.

Channels are configured as everything was working fine one minute and then stopped the next. I did double check it though.

    Compressed Log files attached.

    Hi,
your log shows that something it's wrong with the channel name ([Info.][MPMain]: OnMessage exception:confused:ystem.ArgumentException: channelname is empty), check if all channels are as they should in Mp Setup -> Television -> TV Channels. You could also export the channels, rename TVDatabaseV21.db3, to something & start MP Setup -> Import & check that all it's mapped where it should be. You can restore db after that if it doesn't help, but i'm afraid a fresh install will be needed then.....

    Regards
    Roy

Tried removing all the channels and reimporting them from my original backup of the channels and it didnt work, so I used the new backup and it didnt work.

renamed the tvdatabase and created a new one, didn't work.

Set all the tv cards so that they were disabled for viewing or recording and then went into MyTV and to my suprise I am able to watch tv :/ although I still cannot change channels, BUT the error message no longer appears (however neither does a channel list). So I am stuck watching which ever channel it decides I want to watch :(

Was hoping not to have to re-install as I have a considerably large number of recorded programs that I really cannot be bothered with trying to set up correctly :(
