iTunes Trailers - Can't stream, buffer issue? (1 Viewer)

Hi,

Just updated to 1.2RC and the latest version of OnlineVideos (0.32.1 ?)

I have found that I can't play the iTunes Trailers - and after a bit of playing I think its a buffer issue, as if I download the trailer, then I can play it fine.

I have buffer set to 2%, and my guess is that 2% of the mov file isnt enough for the file to be correctly read?

Any ideas? (Am at work, and can post logs later if needed).

It is not a codec/playing issue, as downloading the file in OnlineVideos and then playing works.

Same thing here, but for me it reaches 15%-25%, screen goes black and then playback starts after ~ 10 seconds. But it is choppy and unwatchable. And I think it's still downloading in the background...log says it buffers a lot:

"Watch Movies" site also seems to be buffering away, so far I have reached 21% on a movie

What buffer size are you using, assume you are refering to iTunes trailers and not "Watch Movies" site

I have the default value (2%) ... Both itunes and watch-movies play fine.

Ok so my new guess is that its maybe codec realated - i.e. I am using the QuickTime directshow filter, and i'll hazard a guess that you are using ffdshow or something that can handle the file when only 2% is available? (just a guess)

I used to use the old Trailers plugin, which worked fine, probably worked difference

I think you can disregard the stuttering I experienced, I may have forgotten to set codecs correctly after a clean install of MP 1.2.0 RC. It plays fine now. The buffering is stil weird though, I set the buffer percentage to 10% but it still buffered 20% of the trailer I just watched.

Will check my W7 system at home, this was on XP.

OK its working fine here now - I have updated my LAV Filter, and thats about it. So maybe that fixed it.

Perfect 1.2RC system - playing everything i've thrown at it!
