ITV HD (1 Viewer)

OK, so i've seen a lot of threads which go off topic a little about ITV HD, so i thought i'd start an ITV HD thread....

Whats with ITV HD? How do us people who are already capable of viewing BBC HD (with DVB-S cards) view ITV HD through media portal? Is there a procedure? Can anyone help? (i really want to watch euro 2008 on ITV!)

Mediaportal sees ITVHD as an audio stream due to the fact it is a 'red button service' i.e data stream. In other dvb appz you can manually set them to see the stram as a video stream. This is not possible with MP. MP is in 'feature freeze' so will not be looked at by devs ( I hope a dev will take pity and address this issue). a few of us are waiting for this and would really appreciate the devs looking at it. There are a few threads on here so your best bet is to keep checking for any update. hope this helped.

If so, which DVB program will work- i dont mind using another app just to temporarily watch ITV HD.

MediaPortal rox and i hope this problem is fixed ASAP.

Does anyone else know of any other HD channels we can watch?

DVB viewer etc. all work fine because you can specifically set the video stream to h.264.

Details are right, DVB viewer works for sure and I think I had it coming through DVB Dream as well at one point. I think I also saw a workaround on these forums around opening dvb viewer from within MP, might be worth your while having a gander. As for other HD channels this depends upon which sats you can pick up and subscriptions etc. FTA on 28.2e are BBCHD, ITVHD and LuxeTVHD, you can get CH4HD FTV using a cam and you sky sub card. google really is your friend on this subject but check out kingofsat and lyngsat.

You can use a sky subscription card for 4 HD without hax0ring the CAM? Do you recommend any DVB-S2 tuners which have CAM or have CAM extensability?

Brilliant! Does the tv tuner card have to be compatible? How much did your CI cost?

it is an integrated ci slot, it needs a dragon/t-rex cam preloaded with predesaurus or you also need a cas3 programmer and loader card in order to load the predasaurus software yourself. then it is a case of putting in your sky card remembering to return it to your skybox once a month for 24hrs to keep it 'live'. this is not supported by sky or MP as such and if I have overstepped the mark I'm sure a mod will let me know.
