Well the Nvidia control panel thing won't let me set a rate lower than 60hz, they're not even listed. 100hz gives me no signal to my TV, so I assume it can't handle that rate. Although I didnt know anything about it until Taipan explained, I'm inclined to believe that multiples of 25 are OK.

    The best test is football or icehockey.

    Do you connect your HTPC via VGA? 50Hz via VGA is usually impossible on most LCDs. If you have the option I'd recommend trying a DVI or HDMI connection.

    From my experience 75Hz is ok until you start watching sports and similar stuff.
