Browsing the forums, I see a lot of people installing multiple codecs like eg. vobsub for subtitles.
Thing is, all I have installed on my MP box is :
And I can do everything.. Watch my DivX / XviD - they look at least as good as DVD if converted right. Have full DTS / DD support from both DVD and aforementioned DivX / XviD movies... I have full control over my Subtitles in DivX / XviD movies, as well as on my DVD's...
So I'm just wondering - Am I missing something by NOT installing vobsub, reclock etc. ?.. All my movies play without any skipping, choppiness or the likes..
If I'm not missing anything, maybe the recommendation for just the two codecs should be included somewhere... (And Purevideo if you have an nVidia card)
Cheers,
Steffen

- AC3filter (Not sure why, it's an old habit me thinks)
- FFDShow (DivX / XviD decoding obviously)
- Purevideo (6600GT - video acceleration)
