    Dear all,
I wish to use an external player with Mov Pic and have set the default path to launch Power DVD in the Advance settings. However, Power DVD is not launched when selecting a film, rather, the standard player is launched.

Please can someone point me in the right direction to launching Power DVD with moving Pictures.

    Thanks very much.

    Jim

Is this for bluray or for just stand video files?
As far as i know moving pictures follows the settings within MP Config -> Video settings, try set your external player there as well.

    Hi,
This is for standard .vob files and having tried what you suggested, it worked! However, after I close the external player and return back to Mov Pic, a box appears with the message:

    Unable to play .vob
    Video Codec: mp2
    Sound: AC3

I then have to click on OK to clear the message.

Any ideas how I can stop this message box from appearing?

    Thanks for your help.

    Jim

I'm having the same problem. Theatertek launches just fine & plays my ripped movies (.ifo/.bup/.vob structure) & even appears to exit just fine, but it throws the error after exiting.

    3PO (great name BTW!!),

Have you tried to play your files within Mediaportal in their videos section (not in Moving Pictures)? I've been thinking about this while at work today & it occurred to me that I don't think that I ever tested playback outside of Moving Pictures to see if this error is still present.

    Hi Hawksfan,
I have tried launching the same files within MediaPortal (using PowerDVD) and there is no error! Only with Moving Pictures does this happen :(

It may be that this error is non existant in the new version of Mov Pic, but I have not tried that as yet.

    Cheers.

Are you talking about the beta? What version are you using?
