    Why not use a PDA wlan remote control instead for music playback?

    There are currently two projects on this in the forum, but they are quite early in the development.
    Yes, I have looked at that as a solution, but I also use PVR Scheduler which requires the ECP2 plugin to be enabled. But the PDA solution will not work if the ECP2 plugin is enabled...:(

    In my setup, my display is a large (2 metres) DLP front projector for watching TV, videos and DVDs. But, if I only want to listen to music, or the radio, then it is combersome and wasteful to fire up the "beamer" just to enable me to navigate the MediaPortal music or radio menus.

    Having a smaller built-in display for the sole purpose of menu navigation would be ideal.

    I have a 4x40-character-VFD and really like it and it runs perfect with the above linked plugin. If you know the structure of your MP it is also possible to pretty easily navigate through the different fuunctions like Music or (Web)Radio - especially if you just want to start a playing list or a particular station.
