Hi folks,

in the last 6 months a worked a lot on my media pc with the media portal. I love it. Thanks for all that work. And thank your for that forum because the most problems I could fix just with searching in this forum.

Now I bought me a LCD-Display 128x64 with the K0108 controller. At first it doens't show anything beside some dots with starting MP with the plugin enabled.

As an alternative I tried LCDHype which I can't start after install due to some message errors. After installing the PortDriver from the LCDHype-Forum (I assumed that it is the reson for that error) the display showed something with MP. The text sent by MP seems to be okay, but the displays shows the right half of the output on the left side and the left half on the right side. In the effect the standard Text Media Portal with the time is shown as

Portal___________Media
:59_______________23

I have the same effect with LCDStudio. Therefore it isn't a MP-error. What did I wrong? What can I do to fix it?

Thanks in advance.

What can I do to fix it?

The KS0108 controller is split into two logical controllers... each licical controller controls one half of the display....

From what you describe, you have wired the two logical controllers in reverse...

Try swapping the CS1 and CS2 (refered to as CSA and CSB on some data sheets) control lines and your problem should be resolved.

:D

Thank you cybrmage! I opended the plug of the cable and changed it (Pin 14 and pin 16). Now everything works fine.

Now I wonder why the display doesn't switch of with hibernating the computer. It keeps the light on and the display content... Is there an option to change this behaviour? And why there is no displayed text in the kontextmenu? Whatever, these are questions for other threads... :)

BTW: How can I assign you a "thank-you-point"?
