Hi,

I'm getting an "Unable to create graph for this device" error when i try to set-up my TV2000 XP Expert TV card. My system is as follows:

A7V8X MB
Athlon XP 2800+
1 GB RAM
Saphire Radeon 9250 Graphics Card
Leadtek TV2000 XP Expert capture card
All latest drivers
Latest Media Portal (0.2.0.3)
DirectX 9
.NET 2.0
Latest WinFast PVR (TV works fine through this)

I've always had this 'create graph' error but at one stage i had it sort of working when i was using the RF input of the TV card. Since going into the TV card via the Mini-DIN (SCART out of my Telewest cable box into A/V and Video phono plugs (S-Video only gave black and white image)) it doens't work at all. Incidentally i say 'sort of working' before because the video kept missing frames and locking up so it was unusable.

I wonder of the problem is something to do with the Capture Cards.xml file looking for a driver called "..... WDM TVtuner." whereas latest driver for tuner is called "....WDM TVtuner. (PAL-IBGDK/SECAM-LBGDK)"? I tried editing the xml file but that didn't work.

I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the TV card drivers, MediaPortal, .NET and various other things half a dozen times but it's still screwed.

Has anyone got their TV2000 XP Expert card working properly with MP and if so could you please tell me how you did it!

Cheers,
Lee

PS. Excuse my ignorance as i've seen several threads about this problem but so far i haven't seen a clear answer to it (at least one that i understand).

    Hi Lee and welcome,

If you would have filled in the complete support template then I wouldn't have to ask what OS + servicepack you're using. ;-)
Next to that, please start setup -> try to add the card (which fails), close setup and then post the MediaPortal.log (assuming you're not using an SVN snapshot) at http://pastebin.team-mediaportal.com and post a link back here.

    Kind regards,
    Michel

    Hi,

    Sorry, i'm running XP + SP2.

Update to my original post. I checked if i have the same TV card driver version as per regeszter's post and i do. So i removed and reinstalled .NET framework V2 and Media Portal and now i don't get the 'Unable to create graph error' when i try to configure the capture card. However.... MP still can't find the video which is coming into the card on the cable (A/V leads) input NOT the antenna input (i know that MP has no problem finding the video when it comes in via antenna but picture is naff).

In WinFast PVR, where the TV works fine, the input source is set to 'CVGS' (the other 2 input options are Live TV (antenna) and S-Video). If i connect via S-video then i get b/w picture in WinFast PVR but nothing at all in MP - i'm assuming the b/w picture is down to the Telewest cable box output not being 's-video compatible'..?

I hope i haven't seriously confused the issue here! I guess i can summarise by asking how do you set MP to look at the A/V leads input on the capture card - which in WinFast PVR is the 'CVGS' input?

    Any help/advice greatly appreciated!

Thanks for your help - got it working now. Howeer video keeps freezing up so it's unwatchable!

Any ideas what likely causes are? I'm thinking maybe Graphics card (Sapphire Radeon 9250, 128MB memory)...? I've also got graphics aperture size set to 128MB.

But then if it was the Graphis card how come it works fine through WinFast PVR?

Another thought ... i saw somewhere that the Radeon 9250 is only DirectX 8 compatible (even though i have V9 installed). and that MP requires V9.

    What do you think? Anyone...?

1st you should try a dx9 video card with DXVA.
2nd try to use this file http://pastebin.team-mediaportal.com/10347 with Intervideo encoder (windvr3).
