Yeah looks laggy in the video, not sure if its his code or just too low baud rate but everything is fixable
With AtmoLight it would work like this:

AtmoLight --> Hyperion server #1 - TV ambilight (current)
AtmoLight --> Hyperion server #2 -> backend server (AdaZones) -> COM port -> lamps (NEW zones)

AdaZones is missing key documentation so will have to wait for the complete picture.
